Abstract
This article discusses the development of quality and accreditation in Islamic educational institutions as strategic efforts to improve institutional performance and public trust. The purpose of this study is to examine the concept of quality development in Islamic education, the role of accreditation as an external quality assurance system, and strategies that can be implemented to support continuous quality improvement. This study employed a qualitative approach using library research methods. Data were collected from books, scientific journal articles, and official regulations related to educational quality management and accreditation systems. The analysis was conducted descriptively and analytically to synthesize relevant concepts and findings. The results indicate that sustainable quality development integrated with accreditation standards contributes significantly to improving institutional governance, educator professionalism, learning processes, and graduate outcomes. Accreditation not only functions as a formal assessment mechanism but also serves as a reflective and developmental tool for Islamic educational institutions. Therefore, it is recommended that Islamic educational institutions adopt accreditation standards as a continuous quality improvement framework rather than merely an administrative requirement.
